Jane Fonda joins Dolores Huerta to stand up for the Central Valley
September 8, 2026 Event
Two powerhouse champions of civil rights and social justice are showing up for a key part of the Central Valley at this critical time: Jane Fonda and Dolores Huerta. Come see them at Central Valley Matters’ online fundraiser on Sept. 8, 2026 at 5:30 PDT.
You know it’s important when these two icons of social justice unite for a cause. At this online event you can learn why voters in the Central Valley’s Congressional District 22 (CD-22) could determine whether Republicans or Democrats control Congress’s House for the next two years.
Jane and Dolores will be here to support the grassroots groups that are canvassing, phone banking and holding community events in the Valley. They are spreading the word about the crucial election in November to fill CD-22’s seat in Congress.
Central Valley Matters has been supporting several hardworking grassroots groups for years in CD-22 to bring resources to neglected communities and boost voter turnout.
These grassroots groups are on the ground now in strategic areas of this swing district, which runs from Fresno to Bakersfield. They helped make impressive gains in voter turnout in the June primary, and they are poised to do it again this fall!
Many of you have already stepped up to help us get to this moment. Let’s do it again!
As we watch our democracy hang on the edge of a cliff, we are acutely aware that success lies in the margin of effort.
Poder Latinx, one of the grassroots groups that CVM supports, has an independent expenditure campaign to support CD-22 and Randy Villegas, the Democratic candidate for Congress. Votar es Poder PAC seeks to equip communities in three of CD-22’s counties with tools to be agents of change.
Votar es Poder PAC integrates voter registration with issue-based education.
