Dear Friend of Central Valley Matters (CVM),

Congress is back in session this week. Over 2/3rds of California’s Congressional District 22’s residents are covered by Medicaid, the most of any district in the country.  National leaders Ro Khanna, AOC, and Bernie Sanders recently held town halls in CD 22, shining a light on this under-represented (and flippable) district. CVM continues to support trusted local grassroots organizations that help community members improve their lives by voting and advocating for themselves.  

Please join us on June 5 at 5:30 PDT for an online conversation with our mentor and friend, Dolores Huerta and leading California community organizer, Lydia Avila. Both are committed to educating and motivating Central Valley communities, many facing budget cutbacks, which need our support now more than ever. CVM’s goal is to raise $120,000 for our six vetted grassroots organizations in CD 22, so they continue their work on the ground in 2025 and beyond.

P.S.  Despite their lies to the contrary, Republicans are working to cut Medicaid funding to pass their billionaire-friendly federal budget. Our groups are working overtime rallying to convince CD 22’s Congressman David Valadao (R) to vote against the budget or be voted out in 2026.
